Frequently asked questions

Do I need a GP referral for private blood tests?
No. Adults aged 18–79 can book directly online, by phone or by email.
Can I book just one blood test?
Yes — single blood tests start from £99, with specialist tests such as PSA or full thyroid panels priced higher. Most patients choose the Essential Health Check at £125 instead, which includes 25 blood markers plus body composition, blood pressure and a lifestyle review with a Bupa-trained Health Adviser. To book a single blood test or discuss which option suits you, please get in touch.
Do I need to fast before my blood test?
No. Our blood markers do not require fasting, so you can eat and drink normally before your appointment.
Which blood tests are included in each package?
This depends on the package you choose. Our packages include combinations of cholesterol, diabetes, liver, kidney, full blood count, thyroid, iron, inflammation, vitamin D and cancer marker testing. See our individual service pages for the full marker list of each package.
How quickly will I get my blood results?
Your detailed blood test report is usually ready within 2–5 working days.
What happens if a blood result is abnormal?
Your report highlights any results outside the normal reference range and explains suggested next steps. If medical follow-up is needed, we will recommend you speak to your GP.
Are private blood tests a replacement for seeing my GP?
No. Private blood tests are for screening and risk awareness. If you have current symptoms or feel unwell, please speak to your GP.
