BLOOD AND URINE

Cholesterol is a waxy substance found in your blood. High levels of LDL (bad) cholesterol can increase your risk of heart disease. We conduct a blood test using the latest technology to screen you for 5 different types of cholesterol. 50% of the UK population have undiagnosed high cholesterol.

HbA1c is a diabetes test looking at your average blood glucose (sugar) levels for the last two to three months. Diabetes is one of the most common diseases in the UK effecting 5 million people. There are also over half a million people with undiagnosed diabetes meaning they have too much sugar in their blood.

Iron Level

Iron deficiency (anaemia) can result from inadequate intake of iron, a lack of absorption or blood loss e.g. menstruation or injury. Iron is essential for transporting oxygen around the body. Fatigue and tiredness are usually an indication of anaemia. This test looks at the 4 different types of protein in the blood that contain iron. If these are too low, that could be a sign of iron deficiency.

This test is a measure of how well the kidneys are removing wastes and excess fluid from the blood. This is done through a blood test which will be sent to a laboratory for testing.

Bone Profile & Gout

A bone profile consists of 6 different tests including calcium, albumin, phosphate, uric acid, ALP and protein. These nutrients play a vital role in bone structure and density. If these are lower than normal, that could be a sign of bone disease such as osteoporosis or other bone related diseases.

This will provide us with valuable information on your caloric needs to either reduce weight, gain or sustain your current weight.

An electrocardiogram (ECG) is a test that can be used to check your heart's rhythm and electrical activity. An ECG can help detect: Coronary Heart Disease, Heart Attacks, Cardmyopathy, Atrial Fibrillation (AF), Supraventricular Tachycardia and Ventricular Fibrillation.

High blood pressure can block and prevent blood flow to the heart muscle potentially leading to a heart attack or stroke.

Heart rate is the number of times a person's heart beats per minute. Normal heart rate varies from person to person. We check this using an Electrocadigram to make sure it is not too high or too low, which could be a sign of an underlying heart condition.

After all tests are conducted, we will use the data to determine your heart age. We will then provide guidance on how to reduce it and decrease your risk of heart disease.
